Adding a Network Attached Storage Device


Recently, a busy and growing small business presented us with some technical concerns regarding the redundancy of their accounting system file and backups. With three users entering invoices, accounts payable/receivable and inventory management, an interruption and loss of their workflow would add many additional hours of re-entering lost transactions!

To help them avoid that, we are moving their current file share off a single desktop computer and onto a Network Attached Storage (NAS) server from Synology. Using proven technology, this NAS features immediate redundancy through drive mirroring, supports an internal cloud backup that can be setup for all workstations and is also able to connect to and make use of the customer’s current cloud backup services through Google Drive.
The setup will include secured file shares, only allowing authenticated users access to company data.
